Ok, while doing research for another client project last night, I stumbled upon this image:
Hmmm......could this be an option for my breezeway/den/bar area? I love a black and white hexagonal pattern. I got so excited about this option, I immediately researched a source in Nashville to pull this off and I think I found one. The above picture was done over hardwood. Mine would be done over concrete. I have to find out if I can get the same affect but if a I can, I think this is a serious contender.
You know I was going to ask you the other day if you'd thought about just painting whatever flooring was currently there, but I didn't think about a big graphic pattern. VERY cool. You're right - lots of people have done it on wood, just not sure about concrete, but I don't see why it couldn't work! Mary McDonald seems to paint floors all the time. I've got her book if you want to borrow it. Love this idea. Don't you love it when inspiration strikes??
ReplyDeleteObsessed.
ReplyDeleteThis floor could be stunning if the proportion of the design was scaled to the room. You could also do the design in stained concrete. Take a look at Modello Designs the concrete patterns. But if you didn't want to stain the concrete there are paints that can adhere to the concrete as well.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, looks like a fun project.
