While in New Orleans last week, I found an amazing shop filled with mid-century goodness. Leave it to me to fall in love with the largest piece in the store. What is it with me and sofas? I currently have four sofas in my house and a fifth one in the attic....oh and I probably shouldn't mention I just sold a sofa that was in my office so I recently had five sofas in my house. Why can't I be obsessed with smaller things like chairs or lamps? (oh wait...I am).
Anywhoo.....the shop has this amazing L-shaped sectional designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. The sectional consists of two cream colored sofa's attached by a corner table. The entire piece sits on a wooden base topped with chrome plating. It is so comfortable and screams, "SIT ON ME AND HAVE A COCKTAIL". I'm considering this piece for the lake/living room. Based on dimensions it will fit perfect but my hesitation is the lack of flexibility. The pieces have to be used together because of the way the base is built.
I know me and I like to move things around. Will this piece be too constrictive? What are your thoughts?

It would go in the lake room in place of cream chairs and brown sofa:
