Remember how the owl was the new butterfly? Well it's happening as we speak, the elephant is the new owl. I don't know about you but I'm seeing elephants everywhere in the design world. I am the first to admit the elephant is typically not my animal of choice. This may have a little something to do with me attending Auburn University and the University of Alabama being our all time rivals (for those of you not from the South nor into football, the Alabama Crimson Tide mascot is the elephant).
However, as you may have noted in my previous posts, the elephant garden stool (two in fact) have found their way into my home and I'm loving them. Do you have a favorite elephant piece?
Love them...minus Bama's lame mascot!
ReplyDeletelove! i just did a (mini) post about an elephant garden stool I scored from craigslist :)
ReplyDeleteI have a little ceramic elephant I've had for years that I always have facing the door because I remember hearing that it was considered good luck in some culture. I don't remember where the elephant came from, nor where I heard that little tidbit, but clearly it stuck.
ReplyDeleteAnd now that you mention it, I am seeing a lot of elephants lately...
You know my love for elephants. My ultimate lust is an omersa elephant footstool!
ReplyDeleteTell me all about it. I have been elephant hunting for a year.
ReplyDeleteI like elephants, although they don't really "speak" to me. I picked up a matching pair of vintage green garden stool a few years ago and I really like them. I don't think I would have bought them if they weren't green though. Be careful with your elephants -- depending on how they're trunk is positioned they may be wishing fertility to your house :) a little something I read after buying mine.
ReplyDeletei'm a fan and this is a great trend! i might need to look for some elephants for my place now...

ReplyDeleteWar Eagle baby ... but still okay to embrace the elephant! I used to have an issue with houndstooth ... but I can't help myself ... I still love it!! xo
