The Perfect Pull

I have a reading nook in my house that has built-in cabinets and drawers. Ever since I painted the nook 1 year ago, the cabinets have not had hardware b/c I haven't been able to find the perfect pull. My search is now over! I found these through Pinterest (of course) and will be ordering them today. I would love to use these throughout the house maybe on the bathroom cabinets to give a consistent look.

It's A Sign

Using signs or lettering in your home's decor is a way to add a creative twist without spending a lot of money. Vintage letters and signs are popping up in every antique mall and flea market and are seen in many of the current design books as style accessories.

Just recently I discovered a vintage fluorescent, two-sided hotel sign that I knew would look perfect in my Chateau À Gogo. The following pictures do not do it justice but you will get the idea. Now I just need to score a George Nelson bench to go under it.

Wallpaper Envy............Installment #2

Wallpaper Envy is a series of posts about "to die for" wallpaper. I'm a bit of a wallpaper junkie and I'm sure one day it will be out of fashion but for now it is all the rage. The amazing talent and unique techniques that go into some of the latest wallpaper lines make them works of art and not just a design accessory.

The featured paper line today is Flavor Paper. If you have not discovered Flavor Paper yet, you must check them out. Their story is one of fine tuning an almost forgotten art into a masterful skill that can be enjoyed and appreciated by all that view it. Here is a little historical exert directly from their website:

"Founded on the Oregon coast by a guy named Ted, this small handscreened wallpaper company flourished in the Age of Aquarius. Many years later, some young designers seeking striking wallcoverings discovered Ted's greatness- just days before the designs and equipment were to be destroyed. Knowing what had to be done, these young designers headed west to save Ted's legacy. Relocated to the Bywater District of New Orleans, Flavor Paper continued to print using Ted's traditional printing methods and vacuum table, but with greatly increased accuracy and detail. " The Flavor Paper lab is now located in Brooklyn, NY.

Their papers have won numerous awards, been featured in high design publications and grace the walls of some of the hippest venues.

My personal favorite "City Park". I love the fire hydrant, parking meter and city rat in such an unassuming pattern. It's just FUN! I want to put this in a powder room so guests can pee and laugh at the same time :)

Yes it is a Pink Poodle!!

I kid you not......yesterday after turning out of my neighborhood I pulled up beside a white BMW convertible carrying a white Standard Poodle with pink-dyed ears! I almost had a wreck with excitement. Don't worry, I did not endanger lives of others by driving and taking a picture, my passenger took it. It was a major Phyllis Morris moment. Why can't that be my car and my poodle???? One day....................

Speaking of Gifts.......

Yesterday's post was about my gift board on Pinterest and low and behold what arrives today but an amazing gift from my wonderful sister. If you know me, you know I'm slightly obsessed with Florence Broadhurst. You probably also know that Kate Spade introduced a Florence Broadhurst line just recently. When my sister was in town last weekend, we went to Kate Spade and she watched me drool over all the pieces. This one arrived in the mail today! I'm a very lucky girl. Thanks Sis!

Gifts for the Gogo: Head Vase Planters

One of my Pinterest Boards is called "Gifts for the Gogo". I've created this board for anyone (husband, hint, hint) that may need a gift idea for me. I just added these head vase planters today. I must have them in my life.

You can just catch a glimpse of them in the dining room of this picture. I love the scale.
