Wallpaper Envy - Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon

Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon pattern is still one of my favorites.  While in California, I spied the wallcovering in the entryway of one of the hip boutiques.  I seriously need this pattern in my life I just can't decide if it will be wallpaper or fabric.  I would love to get this fabric vinyalized (is that a word???) for use outdoors.  I've heard of companies that can turn any fabric into outdoor type vinyls/oilclothes but I don't know a specific one.  If you guys know of a resource, please let me know.

Making Progress

I purchased the Jardine outdoor expandable table from West Elm over a month and a half ago (see previous post) and have been agonizing over the right chairs. What I liked was either too expensive, too low or too wide. I thought for sure I was going with the Panton S chair but I realized our aggregate patio surface would ruin the bottoms in a matter of days as they were pushed and pulled from the table. Last weekend I spied a possibility at TJ Maxx HomeGoods. For those of you that shop HomeGoods, realize the chances of finding two matching chairs is slim let alone SIX but ours had exactly that count. I snatched them up and think they look pretty good not to mention the price was right. They aren't exactly the vibe I was originally going for but I'm sure I'll find ways to "funk" the area up.  I'm already working on that with white planters from Target (yes I know they need plants in them Mom), artichoke candle holders and funky Asian style lanterns.

Wee-Wee-Wee All The Way Home

Remember the gold Henry Allen pig bank that caught my eye at the M Showroom last week in Cali?  Well when we arrived home Friday night at midnight, a large box was waiting on me. I have the sweetest husband ever.  The kids have decided to call him "Bacon".  Check out his new home along with a few cousins that have graced design magazine pages.

Gogo is Gaga for: Jonathan Adler

Yes most of you probably visit Jonathan Adler's website on a regular basis but unless you are lucky enough to live in one of the larger cities, you have not experienced the design rush of walking through the doors of his brick and mortar locations. I will be honest....I become completely stupid as I walk around and look at all the amazing pieces. I want everything and if you've ever been in my house, you know Johnny and I have a lot in common. He is definitely on my favorite list.

Gogo is Gaga for: M - St. Helena, CA

If ever in St. Helena, CA, a must see showroom is M on Main Street.  This store is the creation of interior designer Erin Martin.  This shop just oozes cool.  It's edgy, unique and an overall design love fest.  My must have from the store is Harry Allen's Reality Pig Bank in limited edition gold.  I gave the husband plenty of hints so I hope a pig is in my future.  For more inspiration besides my amateur iPhone pics, check out their equally cool website: www.erinmartindesign.com and their 1stdibs store.

Lobster Anyone!!!

I know so far this week I'm featuring more FUN than DESIGN but I promise to pick back up with design tomorrow.  One of the highlights of the trip has been the Salvestrin Annual Member Lobster Boil. We are members of the Salvestrin wine club and their annual event includes free flowing wine, live music and an amazing lobster feast all in the middle of the vineyard. It looked like something out of the pages of Food and Wine magazine.

Resignation Celebration!

It is official.....Thursday was my last day in the corporate world.  It is a bit surreal.  I'm sure it will take a few weeks for reality to hit.  To celebrate, we've headed to California for a week long trip which starts in the wine country (Napa, St. Helena, Yountville, Sonoma).  I plan on blogging all week about different topics: scenery, food, design,etc...We'll see how it goes. I have got to set-up an Instagram account today. For now, here are a few scenic pics starting with the quaint B&B were we stayed in St. Helena (Adagio Inn).

Pantone Passion

Pantone is synonymous with color. This panel represents Pantone's 2012 Fashion Color Trends for 2012.

Although the Pantone product trend has been going on for some time, I still wouldn't mind having a few of the items below (just in case anyone out there needed a Mother's Day idea :):
