Since the last laundry room update, the Carrara Marble has been installed, sink and faucet installed and hardware installed minus one pull b/c Brandy can't count. We are going to do white subway tile with dark grout halfway up the wall for a high wainscot affect and then I will wallpaper above that.
Unfortunately, the wallpaper decision is at a complete standstill. I had no idea I was going to have to sell my first born child in order to afford Chiang Mai Dragon. Apparently, the rolls of the wallpaper are half if not a third of the typical length of a wallpaper roll. I would need 4 rolls in order to do my tiny laundry room which would be well over $1000.00. Therefore with a very sad heart, I say good-bye to the dragon. It was just not meant to be.
Here are some other options but there again I'm sure cost will be an issue. If anyone has a suggestion, please share.
I have always been a huge fan of the trellis wallpaper! Thanks for stopping by today- I am so glad to have found the Gogo...our taste is very similar!
ReplyDeleteI love option #2 however I am still a fan of the Adler paper :)
ReplyDeleteCan I ask if you are 100% sure on the dark grout? This room is so stunningly beautiful, I can't picture the dark grout? Have you seen this stencil? http://worthwhiledomicile.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-chinoiserie-powder-room-reveal.html
ReplyDeleteI love all of your choices...good luck
I am crazy about your list of wallpaper wants. I would be hard pressed to choose one. You could design your own on Spoonflower. I have not yet done wallpaper, only fabric. I should add that you need to get a sample and a color guide because what is on your screen is vastly different from the printed colors.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely check out Spoonflower. They have thousands of great looking choices and they are all removable and priced at just $60 per roll. Good luck!

When I saw you at the TAG sale I was going to ask you about your source for the Chiang Mai Dragon wallpaper, as I know how costly it is. I made the mistake of letting a friend order some of the fabric for me without finding out the cost first. You can imagine how quickly my jaw hit the floor when I received a $408.00 invoice for 2 YARDS of fabric! EEEEK! So now I have extra pillows in case you're interested (alabaster colorway). :)
ReplyDeleteIf your heart is set on the dragon, have you considered painting a mural? Danika did it here: http://gorgeousshinythings.blogspot.com/2011/05/paint-is-dry.html
I've been thinking about doing this in my dining room for big impact. What do you think?
holy cow, your laundry room is fabulous! I love the marble and the hardware!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought re: wallpaper was spoonflower. Not sure of the cost, but have you checked out Anna Spiro's wallpaper line? Or Afrochic?
So sad about the Chiang Mai but I understand your need not to sell your children. The price is crazy. I love anything bamboo and trellis-like (duh). Would KWID's Imperial Trellis be any cheaper? I agree about Spoonflower. Danika just did a post about their wallpaper and featured a pagoda design - I guess it's her design. Very cute! Also, have you seen Oh Joy's wallpaper?

And can I tell you how jealous I am of the waterfall granite and brass hardware? Beyond gorgeous!
All of your choices are stunning - a stencil would certainly be less expensive if you're up for a little diy! :)
ReplyDeleteThe laundry room is looking FAB!!!!! I'm leaning towards #2, but I know whatever you choose will look great!!!
