One Thing Leads to Another

It's funny how you start blogging or pinning about one topic/look and it starts showing up in various places in your life.  I'm sure many of you know exactly what I'm talking about.  Recently, I posted about Barrie Benson which led me to Meredith German which led me to thinking about the Greenbrier which also showed up in my Good Bones Great Pieces book which led to finding out about their Greenbier inspired party......where is this run on sentence going you ask?  Well, many moons ago I posted about a set of dining room chairs that Melissa and I are rehabbing.  The rehab project was put on hold but is now back on track.  We are nearing the finish line and it is time to pick out chair cover fabric.  What did we choose?  None other than a Dorothy Draper/Greenbrier meets Palm Springs inspired print.  It is also a throwback to the tropical barkcloth of the 1950/60s which I love.

Gogo is Gaga for: Meredith German

I recently purchased Suzanne and Lauren McGrath's new book Good Bones Great Pieces released this past May. I immediately fell in love with an image of a cleaned lined sofa covered in a Dorothy Draper crewel fabric.  I then learned that the image was from Meredith German's New York apartment designed by Barrie Benson. Meredith and her husband started the amazing resort inspired accessories line, Meredith Wendell, in 2008. Her childhood plays a major role in her design aesthetic.  She was raised by her father and grandparents in and around the vibrant Dorothy Draper designed interiors of West Virginia’s Greenbrier Hotel. 

Just take a look at a few images from her apartment and accessories photo shoots.  Doesn't it make you want to visit the Greenbrier for a little Draper greatness wearing of course your fabulous resort accessories from Meredith Wendell.

Gogo is Gaga for: Barrie Benson

Barrie Benson is a Charlotte based interior designer whose work has been featured in Domino Magazine, InStyle, The New York Times, and Charlotte Home and Garden. Barrie designed my all time favorite interior featured in Domino Magazine February of 2007 (Laura Vinroot Poole's mid century modern home). Ever since then, I've been an advid follower. She graced the cover of Domino in October 2007 which featured her personal home which is amazing. Her signature style is a mixture of modern and traditional with a dash of youthful energy and color. Sounds very Gogo if I do say so myself. Check out some of her beautiful work below. Which room is your favorite?
